about the artist
my name is Alexis Kwon and I am a painter based on the island of Tinian.i like to create art that is introspective. as i paint i try to capture the nuance, nonsense, & conflict that teems inside each of us - unseen by all except oneself. my work is informed by my mixed cultural identity and my personal journey with mental health.i draw inspiration from my natural island environment, culture, dreams, and spirituality.
